As part of efforts to ensure total reconciliation, inclusiveness, peace and unity in the University of Lagos Alumni Association, the National President (Worldwide), Engr. IfeOluwa Oyedele led a team of some members of the National Executive Committee (NEC), on a visit to the Ogun State Branch. This is in line with the promises he made in his inaugural address where he stated: “…We will provide a conducive atmosphere for reconciliation, healing and unity so that together we can realise the aims and objectives of the Association.”
At the meeting which held in Abeokuta on Monday, March 27, 2023, the NEC delegation interacted with executive members of the Branch, led by the Chairman, Dr. Olalekan Oketokun in a manner that allowed them to express their grievances.
After extensive discussion and deliberations on the issues, a concession was reached on the need for parties to come together as one for the betterment of the Association even as reconciliation process is ongoing.
Present at the meeting were: The Ist National Vice President, Dr. Bala Yesufu; National Publicity Secretary, Mrs. Funmi Falobi, Ex-Officio, Hon. Olumide Akin, while the Ogun State team included the Immediate Past Chairman, Ogun State Branch, Prof. Adesina Agboola, Former Chairman, Ogun State Branch, Mrs. Funmilola Ajogbasile, Alhaji Adekunle Adegbite, Prof. Akinola Akinlabi, and Social Secretary, Mr. Olatunji Ola-Davies. The Executive Secretary, Mrs. Yetunde Abatan, Alumni Relations Manager, Mr. Seun Badejo and Digital Media Officer, Mr. Jeremiah Olatinwo were also in attendance.
