The National President (Worldwide), UNILAG Alumni Association, Engr. IfeOluwa Oyedele, FNSE, has commended the leadership of the University of Lagos Faculty of Engineering Alumni Association (UNILAGFEAA) for its forthrightness and innovativeness which made it to be the first duly registered Faculty Alumni of the University.
He made this known at the 5th Annual General Meeting (AGM)/Election of the association held on Thursday, 30th March, 2023, at the Professor Rahman Bello Auditorium (formerly Julius Berger Hall) UNILAG.
Engr. Oyedele, a 1982 graduate of Electrical/Electronics Engineering told the members that a close look at the magnificent works of creation would tell any discerning heart that God is indeed an engineer. He added that going by the account of the Holy Book in Genesis 1:3, God was first an electrical engineer because ‘electricity’ (light) was the first thing he made at creation.
Oyedele, a power sector mogul, noted that he is indeed proud to be a product of the faculty stating that the faculty was his constituency which was the springboard for his emergence as National President of the University alumni.
Engr. Dideolu Falobi, FNSE, who presided over the AGM, was ratified to continue in office as National Chairman of the Association for the next two years. Other elected executive members are: Engr. Leke Akindele ,Vice Chairman 2; Engr. Ayo Ogunnoiki, Secretary; Engr. Segun Arawole, Asst. Secretary; Engr(Dr.) Lawrence Osoba, Treasurer; Engr. Taiwo Lawal, Publicity Secretary; Engr. Nimotalai Muili, Financial Secretary; Engr. Omosewa Arowolo, Social Secretary.
The position of Vice Chairman 1 was declared vacant by the leadership as it is reserved for female member according to the constitution of the Association.
Also in attendance were: Chief Adebisi Ogundipe, National Secretary, UNILAG Alumni Association, Engr. Titi Omo-Ettu, FNSE, the Immediate Past President of the Engineering Alumni and Professor Obanishola Sadiq, the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and other eminent members from the town and gown.
Others were the Secretariat staff: Mrs Yetunde Abatan, Executive Secretary, Mr. Seun Badejo, Alumni Relations Manager and Mr. Jeremiah Olatinwo, Digital Media Officer.
National Publicity Secretary
